In this post, we have given you the steps to follow to remove your old power supply.

Step 1: Identify the computer components plugged into your power supply

First, you need to identify every component of the computer that has been plugged into the old desktop power supply. Generally, these components include motherboard, CPU on the motherboard, graphic cards, storage drives, radiators and case funs, and optical drives.

Step 2: Unplug all the indentified components

After identifying all the components that are plugged into your old power supply, go ahead and unplug all of them. You should unplug them carefully, one by one. Even if there is a component that is held in place using a plastic tab, you should not use anything to unplug it apart from your hands. In case you must remove anything for you to reach these plugs, be sure not to forget their original positions so that you restore them back after getting to the plugs.

Step 3: Pull the power supply slowly free from the case

Now that you have unplugged all the cables and you have also removed all the retention screws, you can now go ahead and pull the old power supply out of the case. Pulling the power supply free form the case can be challenging or easy depending on what components of the computer are nearby and whether the power supply itself is placed bottom or top of the case. For example, if it is crowded by some oversized CPU cooler and it is near the top of the case, you might need to remove the CPU cooler first for you to be able to remove the power supply.

When you are done removing your old power supply, you can then install your new power supply. At 365PowerSupply.com, you will get Dell Power Supply Lenovo Power Supply and, HP Power Supply or at great prices. If you have a desktop computer, you can also get the best desktop power supply units here.
