Follow the following steps to repair your Computer Power Supply.

Step 1

Start by unplugging the power cables of you PC. Unplug also any other cord that is connected at the back of your case. Now, set your computer case on the table on its side.

Step 2

If your PC uses the case screws, then the next step is to remove all the screws that are at the back end of the case. In case there are no case screws, grab the metal handle that is located on the case top and then lift up the latch in order to unlock the side panel which is attached to the computer case.

Step 3

Next, push down on the side panel and then slide it off slowly of the case. Find the screws that are holding your power supply unit into place and remove them. These screws are located at the motherboard at the upper-left corner. Disconnect all the cables that are running to the motherboard from the power supply unit.

Step 4

Inspect whether your Computer Power Supply unit is producing a burning sent. If there is a burning smell, discard the unit immediately. This means that you won’t be able to repair it and you will need a replacement.

Step 5

Check the fan of your power supply to see if it is clogged with dust. Remove the debris by using canned air to spray the fan. Step 6
